Jan,

I was simply answering Gerald's email commenting that the 3 Hill lines had
never had a joint meet. I was pointing out that I know, for a fact, that
the BRHS tried to do this throughout the 1990's - as we also thought it
would be great for the Societies. I was not speaking to future meets.

The GN's last convention in Minneapolis/St. Paul was in 2001. They are
already slated for Glacier Park, Montana, for 2010. This might be the right
time to approach them about a joint convention - but it takes more than
Internet chatter to get things done. I suggest that those who would like this
to happen should form a committee and approach Dave Lotz and Bob Grenier
about taking on the responsibility and doing the legwork to see if this is
possible. With the BRHS, it tends to get quiet when people are asked to do
actual work...

Rich, I agree, and I'm not saying what people experienced back in the
90s wasn't problematic. I'm just thinking ahead for another 10 years
and thinking we could be in worse shape than now, and wishing we had
tried other things like this...

Cheers!
