The Pennsy power was all supposed to go through to Grand Island and North Platte, but Lincoln often broke up the power sets and rearranged them, and that's why PRR power -- and NYC units after the PC merger -- made it to Denver once or twice a week during the 1967-68 period.

OK, here are four images shot during 1967-68 at Lincoln and Denver of mixed Q. UP and PRR power.  PRR provided EMDs, GEs and ALCOs.

Hol,

Those are neat shots- thanks for posting!

My impression is that by '67, there were probably a couple of PRR-CB&Q-UP pool lashups being interchanged each day, in each direction.
Would it have been the case that most days would have seen pool lashups going to both the UP interchange at Grand Island, as well as west
to Denver as your shots show?

Fred R.
