[CBQ] Re: CB&Q stations eliminated pre-1909

Hi Folks.....

I might be able to shed light on a couple of those stations.  Como, Wyo. got 
changed to Kara...possibly to avoid confusion with Como, Colo. on the C&S?  It 
might also have been when they changed the name of Upton, Wyo. from 
"Merino"...both being Basque/Spanish sheepherder type names, sheep being a big 
business in that neighborhood.  

Kara isn't there anymore, they double tracked between Kara and Thornton a 
couple years ago, and they both "disappeared".  There's a new OS at what I 
still call the "sod house", but the Company prefers MP 560 dot something or 
other :>)

I don't know where Erskine, Wyo. was, but Erskine, S. D. is down behind my 
house on the Hot Springs Branch.  I call my 7-1/2" gauge "estate" railway The 
Erskine Tramway :>)
