Louis the CGW did not serve St Louis. But I may know the routing. The C&O
sold several 2-8-8-2 articulated steam engines to the UP during WWII. They
traveled west under steam, getting on the M&StL at Peoria and going to the
CB&Q at Monmouth. A photo of C&O 1550 on Kickapoo Hill (M&StL track) west of
Peoria was published in the May 2002 issue of Railfan & Railroad magazine.
