Attached is a photo that I took of a GP7 pulling the westbound Galesburg local going through Downers Grove. Elsewhere on the system's secondary lines, locomotives other than E units were found on some passenger trains. All of the Q’s GP7s (and possibly the GP9s) had steam generators as did some SD7/9. Then, of course, the original California Zephyrs were powered by three unit F3s, nos. 9960ABC - 9962ABC. After being replaced on the CZ by E units in the early 1950s, the passenger F3s were used on the new Kansas City Zephyr for a while before being reassigned to freight service in the mid 1950s.
