The crossing at Grand Island was unique - I believe it was either 89 degrees or 91 - not a 90.   My wife and I were on vacation in 1995 and happened to be in Grand Island the day they opened the new bridge.   Have photos and video on the first three or four trains to use it.  The opening was supposed to be a big deal, but there was no coverage by local people at all.   The bridge cost BN a bunch of money to build.  Involved a really long grade to avoid needing extra power, but the time savings were tremendous because BN didn't have to wait for the UP dispatcher to clear them across that diamond.  With the number of trains UP runs through Grand Island , I'm sure it paid for itself pretty quickly.

List,

Regarding the run-through hotshot GI-67 and 68, where was the interchange point between the CB&Q and UP?  Does the symbol refer to Grand Island, NE?

Thanks,  Fred R.
