from: HOL WAGNER

The heavyweight sleepers acquired by the Q in 1948 did not carry both
their CB&Q numbers and their Pullman names at the same time. Those that
got the Q numbers generally simply had Pullman painted out on the
letterboard and CB&Q 6XX painted in two lines in place of the car name,
centered beneath the windows. A good many of the cars, however, were
never relettered and after years of service on the Q, first in Pullman
lease and later as dorm cars and emergency coaches, went to scrap still
lettered Pullman and carrying their Pullman car names.

Did the Q retain Pullman car names when they relettered heavyweights from
Pullman to Burlington? The books I have access to list both car names and
car numbers, but were both names and numbers used on sleepers in the late
1940s and early 1950s?
