There is a lurker here in Atlanta, GA. I enjoy the reminiscences. Grew
up in Berwyn in the 60s and was bit by the Q. There is another gentleman
just down the street from me that is a Q fan. Visited his layout on a
Piedmont Pilgrimage (NMRA division layout tour) a couple years ago.
I could probably get the exhibit hall at the the Southeastern Railway
Museum for a get together.

Last I knew, there were at least several of us located in Alabama. Due
to the distance, I have been only able to attend one BRHS meet in the
many years that I have been a member. So yes, I would certainly be more
likely to be able to attend a meet in the Southeast as Jan suggests.

Subject: [CBQ] SouthEast BRHS Meets?
I've mildly considered something like this over the past few
years, and
now that we've had this discussion maybe it would be a good time
to
throw this out there and see what the interest level is...
I'm in the SE...per say, Hickory, NC. I have an active interest
in the
CB&Q from a place in the nation that has no Q affiliations of
any
kind...except for the sale of some switchers to SE salvage
yards. This
is SOUTHERN country! :) I've wanted to attend a BRHS meet, but
the
logistics just haven't fit.
However, given the internet and the overall size of our group,
I've
found a surprising number of CB&Q listers are from around here.
Presumably a bunch are displaced Midwesterners (as are Dave Lotz
and I),
and who knows the other reasons.
This would be a good location to have joint meets, I would
think. If
you combined the number of GN, NP & CB&Q people who might show
up to a
SE meet, it might make it worthwhile. However, I'm just asking
on this
list right now to see the interest level. If there are a few SE
Q
people who are interested, I'll see about talking to the NP & GN
groups...
So if you're in a position to attend or assist at a SE Q meet,
just let
me know...
Cheers!
