Steve 507 went to Bay Creek Railroad, Cape Charles, VA - there's a photo at http://www.northeast.railfan.net/self_prop3.html There is a spreadsheet on the BRHS website showing all the CB&Q motor cars from McGuire-Cummings #501 of April 1922 onwards, and showing their alleged disposition (and I think I put it in the Files section of this List as well.) Let me know if you can't find it and I'll send you a copy. Whilst the Burlington had one of the biggest fleets of gas-electrics in North America, it was a late starter in the self-propelled passenger car area - other railroads had been using them since the turn of the century both in America and Europe. I therefore wondered if perhaps the Burlington had experimented with them earlier than 1922. I know little about American automobiles but when did they expand from 4/5 seater cars into something big enough for branchline passenger and mail service.
