Russ, sorry, wasn't trying to tie Amtrak into Omaha/Council Bluffs and AkSarBen 
Zephyr discussion other than its my only American experience with riding the 
rails.  I've only had experience on Amtrak here in Kansas (to LA) and when I 
was stationed in Illinois (Rantoul to Champaign).  Just trying to indicate that 
I really have no idea on passenger operations before Amtrak other than what 
I've read or surmised from listening to others first hand or on forums like 
this.
