If I recall correctly, there are a couple of shots in one of Mike Spoor's
books of the exhibition/demonstration set of CZ equipment in Galesburg
headed west. The power was an E5A/E5B combo.
The passenger F3s that broke in on the CZ made runs on the American
Royal/Kansas City Zephyrs for a time after they were bumped from CZ service
... again, I can't recall the book that the pictures are in, but they are
out there.
I do have in my personal collection shots of an eastbound CZ detoured
through Palmyra (Missouri) back in the early sixties ... power was a group
of E units (again, I think there is a shot of a eastbound detoured CZ in
West Quincy in one of Mike Spoor's books).
Hope this makes it a little bit clearer.
Regards,
John Lewis
