only 5 cab cars arrived in 65. most dinkys still ran with Es headed east. motors were turned at aurora depot and the zeyphr pit.

The above is in a chapter about commuter service.

I think this would mean that the commuter trains were push pull in 1965 and the E's used on them were not turned.  Thus they would always be heading in the same direction.  West, I believe it's been said.

I believe the elephant setup for long distance trains started happening about then, also.
