Bob (?): BRHS is exclusively volunteers except for very minor expense
reimbursement to Officers and small payment to our two Editors for pages
produced in our respective publications. When you say 'discussed' & 'nothing
but yawns' & 'don't see it happening' do you mean via posts at CB&Q Yahoo or in
person at a BRHS business mtg? Remember, this site although heavily populated
with BRHS mbrs, includes some who are not. BRHS Yahoo is exclusively BRHS
mbrs. BRHS has benefitted from 1000's of hrs of volunteer time with our
publications, decal & slide sets, research (now many hrs have you spent on frt
cars Rupert; and hrs spent going thru UTU records Leo?), calendars, Meets, etc
plus some mbrs help work on preserved CB&Q equipment & depots. Could we use
more mbrs and more hours? Sure. But there are more projects than there are
volunteers/hours/$$$. Same can be said for every RR His. Soc. If you are a
fallen flag, mbrship generally declines & ages (Q's been gone 40&1/2 yrs)

As described earlier, the best method for this is to emulate what the
SLHS has done - bring in volunteers who can aid in the research and
physical effort required. As the last few times anything like this
has been discussed have been greeted with nothing but yawns (if that)
I don't see it happening. The Burlington is one of many roads,
there are millions of drawings to conserve, index and review. There
is no incentive to put CB&Q drawings and/or information in front of
any other effort. Sounds tacky, but that is (literally) the bottom line.
