Charlie, as you know Ted is the curator, and
everything of such a nature should be passed
through him. We have to schedule work parties
for such things due to the lack of "free" time at
the Library - fulfillment of orders (which
provide funds for conserving & storing the
drawings, documents & photos) has to take
priority. Next is the actual conservation of
elements within the Library. That doesn't leave
time to "freelance" regardless of personal
proclivities. So far, the work with the Soo
Line HS has been productive for all
concerned. It would not be beyond the
imagination for two or more HS to "pool" resources to use a broader brush.

In terms of archives, depending on the details
worked out by Ted, there would be digital images
for archive use (not for sale as duplicate items,
but for publication, research and archival
use). Again, Ted is the one to make the call
and to be in negotiations / discussions.

I know there have been a few CB&Q freight cars
found (50 single, 50' flat, gons, etc.) in the
Standard steel freight section the SLHS has been
helping with. The problem is, without more
resources, it means those drawings aren't
scanned, and will simply have to be "dug out"
again. It's certainly easier now thanks to that
work, but it is duplication of effort.
