Jeff- Thanks for the update on the use of the GW sugar plant. I think it was built in the late 50's or very early 60's when I used to railfan Congress Park / Brookfield from my Evans 26". Of course I didn't take many pictures..... Congress Park was a favorite place to watch trains ... between the IHB and Q something was always on the move! Charlie Vlk The transloading facility is the old GW sugar plant. The lead for it comes off the east ladder of the Congress Park yard (whats left of it) which is why I said Congress Park. The transload facility takes bulk commodities like sugar, corn syrup, flour, ect. and transfers them to trucks. A pretty neat operation and very model worthy.
