Bob-
I was not trying to specify paint for production, just making a casual
reference.
You are correct about the roofing cement aging to the Brown.... we'll leave
that to the modelers as
it is hard to anticipate at what point in the car's career they are trying to
depict.

Hate to correct such things, Charlie - but....
The SILVER RAPIDS never had a "silver roof" (as I know you know). it
was natural stainless. And the "black roof" was roofing cement
which tended toward the brown spectrum after a while (as it had some
petroleum products in it). The first and third runs of SILVER
RAPIDS is coming with no decorated roof, it is simulated stainless
like the rest of the car.
The SILVER RAPIDS showed up occasionally on the CZ post 1957, but as
you say not often, the ones I typically saaw were tuscan - the PRR
typically kept the stainless cars for the Florida runs (or at least
the N-S runs, with the tuscan cars for the E-W runs).
The only reason I *do* "correct" such things is that I've seen far
too many silver painted abominations (while I think that BLI
stainless version is one of the best done)
