Hi Tom, thanks a lot for your reaction. The 40' flatcar I had in mind did
not
have truss rods but looked very much like the FM-11, only shorter and
with 12 unequally spaced stakepockets. (instead of 13 on the FM-11)
A number of these cars ended up in MOW service a.o. as truck flat car
208069 in the Lincoln wreck train. Unfortunately I can't find the former
classificationnumber! ( Maybe FM-9?)
The FM-11 is very interesting because a number of them have been used
as TOFC flat car or eventually in MOW as rail car or basis for a snowplow.
