Ben
I do not have many diagrams but the one I do have is for the cars built in 1929
by Siems Stemble Co. They are listed as 45 foot( this is length over coupler
face) 43 foot over end sills with 12 stake pockets. My interest is in the
group which were used as articulated flat cars for farm implement loading.
These were rebuilt from the standard cars in 64-66. I do not have the class
number only the car numbers and in my 1965 ownership booklet it shows 72 units
total of the articulated flats also 196 45 foot long 98 equip for handling
trailers with 22 having ACF trailer hitches added.

Hi Tom, thanks a lot for your reaction. The 40' flatcar I had in mind did
not
have truss rods but looked very much like the FM-11, only shorter and
with 12 unequally spaced stakepockets. (instead of 13 on the FM-11)
A number of these cars ended up in MOW service a.o. as truck flat car
208069 in the Lincoln wreck train. Unfortunately I can't find the former
classificationnumber! ( Maybe FM-9?)
The FM-11 is very interesting because a number of them have been used
as TOFC flat car or eventually in MOW as rail car or basis for a snowplow.
So if you can help me I would be a happy guy! My e-mail adress is:

With regards, Ben
