>Boy did those boxcars leak. When I was a kid in Palmyra Mo. my grandmother who lived near the tracks always raised chickens. She'd start out in the spring with 200 chicks. Due to the holes in the fencing and the tasty morsels of grain that could be found on the tracks, she would usually have about 150-175 plump grain fed hens ready for butcher in the fall. |
