From what I could tell the roof-line ran east & west with the skylights facing basically south. The picture you posted shows a revised east & west roof-line and no Skylights. The Google Earth aerial also shows a basic east & west layout though considerably changed from the view in your photo.
One of the interesting (to me at least) was the current Google aerial shows the ghost image of only one siding where-as your photo clearly shows 2. The second one northwest of the ghost image in the Google aerial.
The Google image also shows what looks like a cooling pond at north end of the property, I do not see that in your image so maybe it was added when the cooling tower was removed.
The water tower was in the same location in the postcard and your image but different in the Google image.
I have attached a copy of the current Google Image.
By the way, that post card has a lot of issues, including the fact that the sawtooth roof (for bringing in light) is facing the wrong way...

Do you know an apps. date of the photo.
Here is a link to a postcard showing an earlier view of the plant before all of the skylights that would have also provided ventilation were closed o, covered or removed. Postmark on the card is 1929.
List,
Let's try this again with the picture attached. Hopefully, you can expand the photo and see the large vertical structure at the end of the building I'm talking about. It's to the right of the large smokestack. Two possibilities may be an incinerator for disposing of scrap paper? (pre EPA) When I expand the photo, it appears that the top is open. Another idea was this is a cooling tower for some industrial air conditioning to help cool areas of the paper plant to make the rolled paper easier to process.
Any ideas?
