I am not familiar with exactly how the CB&Q interlocking or CTC signals electrically worked... but I suspect the lunar 'call on' Permissive light might have been automatic. That is if the dispatcher or tower operator pushed a button/pulled a lever/flipped a switch to Clear the signal for movement through the interlocking but the field circuits could not cause the main target signal to show Clear or Approach due to something in the block ahead, then the main signal head would stay red and the lunar would light instead. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
