An interesting waybill for modelers using them would be a box load of grain doors shipped from a grain unloading terminal back to elevators. > As a matter of historical fact when grain cars were in short supply just about anything available was used. The elevator at Chana,IL and elsewhere loaded open top hoppers using tarps in the late 70s. Galloway Bros elevator in Elsberry, MO (on the K-Line) retained it's boxcar loading chutes till it burned in 2004. http://transport.castlegraphics.com/displayimage.php?pid=2120 They were not used since '65 (at least), as you can see there is no spur to service the elevator. http://transport.castlegraphics.com/displayimage.php?pid=2113 Cheers!
