The Q's management was not so "PC". It was still "drags". The other term was "dead freight". Back in "the day"..., at least on the Rock Island any train which was comprised of, shall we say, low priority shipments was known as a DRAG. When the new management came to the RI in 1965 that term was no longer to be used...The terminology was changed to "Overflow Manifest"..OFM for abbreviation.

I also ran several "grain boxes" trains which were nothing but empty boxcars that were used for grain loading. I'm guess that was all gone from here within maybe 2 years after 1975, replaced by covered hoppers. Just about the same time the last loaded cattle cars came through Sheridan.
