Some GN & NP freight units made it into Chicago for different reasons but
AFAIK the only GN passenger power that made it in was a GN steam engine
(Mountain, Northern?) on the occasion of a reequipping or inauguration of a
heavyweight GN train that was displayed at Chicago Union Station.

I have read that in the late 1960's the CB&Q units ran from Chicago to Havre
Montana and back. Not sure if GN units ran from St Paul to Chicago.
