I remember Galva paid better than the local co-op creamery, Prairie Farms. Prairie Farms had a "cream station" at Christopher, and we took cream there after 11-12 was taken off but shortly after that, we got rid of our milk cows. Galva creamery in the express compartment of the eastbound doodlebug and after it ceased operating, in the express compartment of the mixed train on the old KC branch (Ft. Madison to Centerville and later to Bloomfield). Not sure where the originated, but it was west of Farmington, Iowa. I'm thinking Mt. Sterling. The Galva creamery must have paid a premium for cream as there was an excellent co-op creamery in nearby in Farmington, and I think, in Keosauqua. Jack Ferris __._,_.___
