In the mid to late 1950's I remember seeing cream cans tagged for the
Galva creamery in the express compartment of the eastbound doodlebug and
after it ceased operating, in the express compartment of the mixed train
on the old KC branch (Ft. Madison to Centerville and later to
Bloomfield). Not sure where the originated, but it was west of
Farmington, Iowa. I'm thinking Mt. Sterling. The Galva creamery must
have paid a premium for cream as there was an excellent co-op creamery
in nearby in Farmington, and I think, in Keosauqua.
