Per the caption, it's the detouring Exposition Flyer, due to a wash-out on the main. The book was copyrighted in 1947. It's a very nice, large photo of the train coming off of the bridge.

That might have been the Zephyr Rocket. It was still crossing over to Illinois until the early fifties.
What other trains might it have been?
