I've been using the Scalecoat Pullman Green myself.

Another color issue is what shade of Pullman green did Burlington use? Hol
Wagner stated in BB#36 that the Burlington Pullman green paint had more
yellow tones than the original Pullman green. I've tried using either
Floquil or Poly Scale at 4 parts Pullman Green and 1 part Coach Green to
capture the effect Hol is talking about. The result is a little different
between Floquil and Poly Scale paints, but both approximate the color photos
in BB#36 and Spoor's color freight car book. Since sun fading and grime
accumulation affect paint colors, I doubt that there is a 'correct' color,
but I'm curious about that paints or mixes others use to paint Burlington
heavyweights. I have two Branchline 12-1 kits lettered for SP that I'm
planning to repaint for Burlington, and I'd like to know what paints others
are using.

Subject: [CBQ] Painting Heavyweight Passenger Cars
Several of us were recently discussing the question of the proper color for
parts of heavyweight passenger cars . Looking at photos I can't tell if the
steps were painted black or Pullman Green. For that matter, the photos were
inconclusive regarding underbody equipment in general. Of course, faded
black and faded Pullman green look very similar, depending on the lighting.
I'd swear in some of the photos I have (in books like Mike Spoor's Color
Guide and photos printed from websites) that the steps and even things such
a battery boxes and reservoirs look to be Pullman green. Can anyone confirm
this from their photos or experience?
