Sam: I believe the Osceola "lake" called "Grade Lake" was created by the Des Moines, Osceola & Southern. The ROW was on the fill that created the lake. The DMO&S became the Des Moines & Kansas City then part of the Keokuk and Western and finally part of the Q so I guess it qualifies as a Q pond. Another former Q pond/lake/whatever is located on the NW edge of Promise City just to the north of IA Hwy.2. Promise City is on the former MI&N/K&W/CB&Q line in eastern Wayne County, IA. My mother and I used to fish there back in the 50s.
