The Q's Frt Hse in Dbq has been part of the National River Museum for quite a
few years now. Part of the structure is unchanged with exhibits primarily in
the high office end. The large b/w BR herald on W end of bldg now has been
painted over with the Nat. Riverboat museum logo. One neat thing inside is an
HO modular view of the area when the Q served the Dbq Boat & Boiler Works which
is the heart of the museum along with the restored CB&N depot. All was closely
examined when we had the Dbq annual meet 5 yrs ago,

I'm interested in the modeling project of the freight house. I'll eventually be
building something for Keokuk. I've never seen a picture or plan of what the Q
had there but I've seen pictures of the Dubuque freight house and it could be a
stand in. I'd be interested in any sources for info on either structure.

Been doing a lot of research on LCL so these files are a great help. In my
reading one of the finds was that empty refeers were used in LCL for back
haul moves on "overhead" cars. I.E. cars moving long distances over more
than one carrier w/o any intermitten handling.
