As FYI
On the Aurora Division and many others the LCL car on the way freight was
referred to as the "peddler car", or "mechandise car".
The general arrangement was for the break bulk point frt house to send out
an assigned car to each of the larger towns on a wayfreight to be spotted
at those frt houses and then a car or more with LCL for all others on its
route that would be worked at each of the smaller stations.
