There is a brake pipe cutout valve that cuts out the cars brakes. This is
located just before the triple valve. This prevents the triple valve from
"seeing" a brake pipe reduction - thus brakes on the entire car will not apply.
(The triple valve is the "brain" of the brake system that applies and releases
brakes. If you have ever build a model its sometimes called the control valve.
Its the thingy that all the pipes run into) I can post a pic if anyone cares.
