Verlin is correct.... it is a powered boxcar (at least it would be if it still 
had its side sheathing and ends!!!).
The gondolas are not the sort that could in-service have their sides 
removed.... even thought they were 
attached to what is basically a flat car with stake pockets.....  
I'd guess, from the lack of lettering, that the contraption might be owned by a 
contractor.  It certainly
looks like a home-built job.
It appears that both cylinders are driving the wheel...   the tank aft of the 
cylinders is the water supply...and
the boards around the floor on the boiler end sufficed as the coal bunker
The comments about the Lidgerwood are still valid even if somewhat mistaken for 
this photo, however.
