This bridge carried Vaughn Road, a township road, I think, over the CB&Q
and then the BN. It did not collapsed as far as I can remember, but due
to the condition, the BN petitiooned the Illinois Commerce Commission to
close and remove the bridge. After a hearing, an order was issued to
close and remove this crossing of the BN tracks. As a side the BN and the
County agreed on construction of the new bridge at Eola Road. Sorry I
don't have dates to complete this information.
