It's starting to look/sound like we could use a poll, to determine what we'd
like to concentrate on here - It certainly seems like we have interest in a
MSTS module project, and maybe someone (who knows more about YahooGroups than
I) could set up a "conference room" for those of us who want to participate
in such a venture.
I would like to suggest, though, that we should look at this not only as a
toy for our membership to "play" with, but as an outreach to people who are
less aware of the CB&Q and its appeal . . .
For that reason, I think it would be good to use a shovel nose, since you
can't get any more distinctively "Burlington" than that . . . and it would be
more effective if we have good scenery and intriguing operation. Using the
same route I discussed earlier, we might expand the attraction a lot more,
though, if we used the Zephyr Rocket and allowed the option to go all the way
to the Twin Cities . . . although we'd have to solicit our brothers in RITS
to help with information, we'd have that weird "switchback" maneuver the ZR
had to make in order to get to/from the RI main into the back of the Q yards
and back up to the depot . . . and don't forget the wye entrance to the
Hannibal station, either . . .
Do we have enough interest and potential participants to set up an e-
conference on the project?
