A while back there was a note regarding having "CB&Q ballast" available for sale at the coming meet. My question for today is what exactly made it "CB&Q ballast"? Was it color, unique because of source or something else? I know that in Minnesota and westward, the NP and GN used crushed granite from around St. Cloud, MN. So, did the Q use the same ballast down towards LaCrosse? Thanks for someone who will answer. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
