Karl, just a minor technical detail to correct. It was the signal "target" that was clipped off, on the track side of the high signal. The "roundel" is the glass "lense" of the signal. John __._,_.__

The current east switch at Oregon is about 4-500 feet from the bridge west of the road crossing and has the standard two head mast. The only pot signal I can recall is at the west end of the Aurora s

The west switch at Oregon is about 2000 feet west of Devil's Backbone Road, just beyond the sand plant. It does not extend into the Burlington Road cut. As Ryan mentioned, the track layout is unusual
