....and I was also caught in that railroad netherland where the great trains (IMHO) were on their way out. I rode a passenger train (on the NYC) with my Mom when I was very young (probably four years old), but in the sixties, these trains were greatly diminishing/less glamorous, and I just can't recall fine details from that far back....only looking out the window and remembering seeing cars at grade crossings as we passed. I'm 62.
