Avoid purchasing any new Nikon products. They may not be around in two years.
The cellphone killed them with their former heavy emphasis in the point-and-shoot market and failures of two costly upscale cameras, they are in a fight for their lives.
The digital camera/image world now belongs to Canon and Sony/Olympus.

Plus, Nikon exited the market. When my high-dollar Nikon slide scanner stopped scanning, they refused to even try to fix it.

I have a Plustek 7600i. Wrestled with buying a usd Nikon. Cost was just too much. My negatives about the Plustek is that it is not automated and can only do 35mm and 126 with an aftermarket film holder. My large format negatives are waiting for another opportunity.
