I grew up in Oskaloosa and my Dad worked at Iowa Valve for 38 years. My
brother and I also worked there.
To my knowledge, they never made a hand pump. I would welcome evidence to the contrary.(The yard hydrant marked IOWA was not made by them. Rather by Woodford (in Cedar Falls?) [not related]) I have two of those. Sam Cook, Milan, MO ================= Douglas Harding wrote: There were a number of companies who made similar water pumps like the one shown in the picture. Iowa Valve in Oskaloosa IA was one. Many many more, and most followed a very similar design.. Most pumps had a manufacture name cast somewhere. That may be your only clue. Another clue is the vertical rod out of the top of the pump, which means it was designed to be driven by a windmill, http://www.windmill-parts.com/index.htmlDoug Harding www.iowacentralrr.org *<snip> * -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
