There were a number of companies who made similar water pumps like the one shown in the picture. Iowa Valve in Oskaloosa IA was one. Many many more, and most followed a very similar design.. Most pumps had a manufacture name cast somewhere. That may be your only clue. Another clue is the vertical rod out of the top of the pump, which means it was designed to be driven by a windmill, http://www.windmill-parts.com/index.html

Simply as FYI, there were three windmill  plants in Batavia; Appleton, Challenge and U.S. Wind. Without going into a catalog search I would venture to say each likely offered a pump to connect to the mill. I do know one made water stands(sometimes called water plugs on the rr) for filling loco tenders.

There is one of these at my childhood home as a yard ornament/planter.  Give me a little while to make contact with current owner. There's no doubt these were sources from one supplier on lines east and distribute through the Aurora storehouse.
