For some reason, this part of my post did not show up in the digest, so I am re-posting it. If you go to the IO Groups site the entire previous post is available: We now have more info on this train I posted about back in November 2018. A slide of this train leaving Daytons Bluff yard eastbound just showed up on eBay taken by the same photographer, Tom Smart (who I knew when I was a young railfan). Here is the original slide from November 2018: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-1968-Koda-Slide-CB-amp-Q-Burlington-Route-118-Action-w-GN-St-Paul-5U17-/392165228703?nma=true&si=0phcaohxUek8u0A9lFIB7Lu9CKg%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Here is the new slide of the same train from the front: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-1968-Kodachrome-Slide-GN-Great-Northern-454-D-ABA-Action-w-CB-Q-A20/392293300164?hash=item5b5680b7c4:g:yNIAAOSwWKhc0v2S The lead unit is GN F7A 454D which was not traded in to EMD until 06-16-1970 on a BN order for SD45's! So the slide from last November of an A-B-A set of GN F's leading a CB&Q train was not trade-in F's after all. We also now know the identity of four of the six units on the train: GN F7A 454D, CB&Q U30B 154 (I had originally identified this as a U28B), CB&Q GP40 621, CB&Q GP40 188. Pretty cool to see a GN F7A-B-A set on a Q train at that late date, and in the lead no less! -- Tom Mack Cincinnati, OH _._,_._,_
