I think Doug has given you as good an answer as you will find. I haven’t read the article, merely knew where to find it, having looked at another volume a couple of days ago.

Correct me if I am wrong but what I get from the report is that provisions for wetting, watering and feeding stock was mainly on the mainline and not on the branch lines.
