It's a distinct possibility that said "passenger connection" was handled by the local switch engine as it was at Nebraska City, NE-Payne Ia.

thanks for the photo.  Wonder what lettering was on the other end of the freight house?

Wonder was the 953 the Q's local switch engine?  Or did they still have a passenger connection across the river to the mainline?

Ted - Attached is an undated image of CB&Q Class K-10 No. 953 posed at Dubuque, IA, with the brick freight house in the background. Note "Freight House" and the Burlington logo painted on the building. No. 953 was assigned power at Dubuque during the late 1930s. Merry Christmas - Louis
