Bill - Then, we can confidently date the St. Joe image to June 1934. Thanks - Louis

Looking thorough the Google Newspaper Archive (yes it is still
online - it just can not be searched anymore
<https://news.google.com/newspapers>):
The June 10, 1934, St. Joseph Gazette reports the Pioneer Zephyr
will be on display at the passenger yards on St. Joseph Union
Station on Monday June 11. The train will arrive early Monday with
Burlington officials from Burlington, Iowa, after mechanical
tests. The Zephyr will then depart Monday afternoon with 50 St.
Joseph people as guests. The train will then continue to Atchison,
Leavenworth and Kansas City. The Zephyr will be on exhibit at
Atchison on Monday June 11 between 4 pm and 6:55 pm. It will be in
Leavenworth from 8 pm to 10:45 pm on Monday before departing for
Kansas City Tuesday morning.
The June 12, 1934, St. Joseph Gazette states that on June 11 the
Pioneer Zephyr ran a 75 mph excursion trip from St. Joseph to
Armour. The train departed at 3:30 pm. At Armour, the passengers
were unloaded and then returned to St. Joseph on a regular
passenger train. The PZ then departed for Atchison and Leavenworth
before preceding west. The article says 10,060 toured the train in
St. Joseph. Hundreds more lined the station platforms at Halls and
Rushville, Missouri.
The November 2, 1934, St. Joseph News-Press has a Burlington ad
for the November 7 round trip excursions runs. Departures were 8
am, 10 am, Noon, 2 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm and 8 pm. Fare was $1.25.
