Bryan:
I queried Bill Schultz
about the 9900's exhibition appearances, and here's his reply:
Without replicating the entire list (stored with the
manuscript on a separate computer), here's a partial list
including all 9900 pre-revenue-service activity at Atchison,
Leavenworth, and St. Joseph:
Monday June 11, 1934 St. Joseph, Mo. exhibition
(Union Station)
Atchison, Kan.
exhibition (Union Station)
Leavenworth,
Kan. exhibition
Friday November 2, 1934 St. Joseph-Togo, Ia.-St. Joseph
circle excursion (St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce)
Wednesday November 7 Seven St. Joseph-Napier, Mo.,
round-trip excursions
Thursday November 8 Weston, Mo.-St. Joseph
round-trip excursion
Four
Atchison-East Leavenworth, Mo., round-trip excursions
Friday November 9 Five Leavenworth-Armour, Mo.,
round-trip excursions
There were wyes at both Atchison (at the west end of the
Missouri River bridge; north leg CB&Q; east and west legs
MoPac) and Armour, so there would have been no need to back
the train in either direction between the two stations.
