<<It's
the ESU 54615 LokPilot V4.0. The main problem with ESU decoders is if you want
to change their sound defaults (like horn, engine sound, etc.), you have to
have their programmer. Since you want non-sound, that should not be an issue I
think. If you have DecoderPro, you might want to look at the options for this
decoder and see if it matches what you want from this decoder.>>
Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
. . . . . Not quite.
I’m
sitting here looking at the packaging for an ESU LokSound Direct 73700. It
states quite clearly on the packaging that the decoder as shipped includes 16
horns, up to four prime movers, multiple bells – No Programmers or
Boosters needed.
ESU decoders
as they come from the factory use CV’s just like any other decoder to
determine which whistle, bell, etc from those available on the decoder as
shipped one would like to be used by the decoder.
On the other
hand . . . . . . . if one desires a specific sound not included with a given
decoder, then one can customize the sound contents of the decoder by
downloading various sound packages and customizing them as needed, including
adding custom sounds, or isolating a sound (perhaps a unique bell or horn) from
another project, and using it to customize the sound package on a specific
decoder.
