Randy, From my research, the GP30s had Leslie S-2M horns. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. The placement of the horn changed over time. I believe that there were delivered with the horn on the cab roof with them being moved back between the first and second radiator fans on the offset to the fireman/conductor's side at some point. Also, not all of the GP30s were equipped with radios. Those that did receive antennas had the motorola can type. I think your best bet would be to try and find a photo of the unit you are modeling to determine if it had a radio or not. There is a photo of a GP30 coming across the South Branch Bridge with a transfer south of Union Station where the GP30 has a radio. I think this was in one of Holck's pictorials, but I am not at home to check. Further, the GP20s were equipped with Leslie A-200s, so they are not the same. I know Dave Lotz is doing some research into the GP30s, so perhaps he will have more to add. Bryan J. Howell __._,_.___ Posted by: tubaman21@yahoo.com __,_._,___ |
