List,

These days, do a handful of UP trains still use the ex-CB&Q to KC?  I haven't been on that
line SW of Galeburg for some years.  When shooting the ex-AT&SF, I always see a UP train
or two, but not very many- I would guess there are some more that typically use the CB&Q.

More generally, when I lived in Macomb, IL, 1987-88, there were close to 20 trains per day
on that line out of Galesburg (with probably at least 60% headed to KC, the remainder to St. Louis).  What is traffic like at present?  I would guess traffic to KC is not as predictable as prior to the BNSF merger.

Thanks, Fred R.

Guys:
The trains running between Kansas City and Chicago over the BN with SP power were SP trains running on trackage rights granted to the SP by the BN in the mid-1980's.  I assume (bad word) that the train crews were also SP.  Maybe some can clear this last point up.  The SP trains originated/terminated on the BRC at Clearing Yard.  As I have stated before this BN/SP agreeement between KC-Chicago is the basic trackage agreement all subsequent BNSF-UP trackage rights are based on.
Fred Crissey
