I appreciate your work with the manufacturers on all of these issues.  I do recall the issue with nose grabs with the Walthers F units and they ended up being beautiful units.

The art for the E units hasn't been done yet and I haven't delved into the details yet.  Like the  Black stripes the SS vs Ptd is an esthetic preference and there is no accounting for taste.  I like'm all and subject to the prototype will do what it is appropriate for the announced roadnumbers  Eventually BLI will get around to doing the full range of variations as Q is popular enough to support multiple releases
I will inquire if the nose grabs could be added as the factory did do them on the Freight F7s

Charlie,

I also have two of these BLI E-units reserved but have been wondering whether the side panels will be plated (metallic) or painted. The BLI web photos show painted but at least one of the references says stainless steel. I haven't done my homework yet on prototype photos of 9964 or 9967 to see which they had and when. If the plated version had the same finish as the CZ cars that would be fine with me, although I prefer the plating on the single Walthers E-7 from a couple of years ago.

I have noted in the past that Red seemed to sell better than the Black but as you point out if you model Pre-1959 you have to have Black
